Low oil level Make sure the oil level is between the “full” and “add” marks on the chainsaw’s oil tank.
Spark plug Check the spark plug for damage or fouling. If the spark plug is damaged, replace it. If the spark plug is fouled, clean it or replace it.
Chainsaw chain too tight Make sure the chainsaw chain is not too tight. If the chain is too tight, it will not be able to move freely and will not start.

Chain keeps coming off chainsaw? Check chain tension, bar alignment, and file/replace worn chain.
